MPs showed their support for Swansea’s City Of Culture 2021 bid during a debate in Westminster Hall. I took part in the debate and spoke about how Swansea winning the bid would have a positive impact on the whole Swansea Bay area.

Stephen Kinnock: The hon. Gentleman is making a passionate speech. He mentioned the Swansea bay campus. One important thing for the record is that that campus is actually located in the great constituency of Aberavon—I hope that has been noted by Hansard. On the internet coast proposal, to which we very much hope the Government will give their full support, does he agree that city of culture status would be a fantastic force multiplier for that investment in the Swansea Bay city region?

Chris Davies: I am delighted that the hon. Gentleman is supportive of that scheme. Of course, Aberavon looks on to Swansea, and anything that benefits Swansea, or, indeed, Aberavon, will be of great benefit to Wales as a whole.
