It was an honour and a privilege to attend the unveiling of the new cenotaph in Skewen, which now has a list of the 86 Skewen boys who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Great War.

Skewen Historical Society put a tremendous amount of work into raising funds and researching those who from Skewen who fought in the First World War. The new plaque is a fitting tribute to honour the 86 men who lost their lives. They also put on a display in the Carnegie to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War. It was fascinating to read the stories of some of the men from Skewen who fought.
