It was a pleasure to visit Maesteg Job Centre recently, to hear about all of the work they are doing to provide help and support to our local community.
The staff are on hand via booked appointments and walk ins and have dedicated work coaches to provide specialised support for those with physical and mental health issues. They work directly to remove the barriers to employment and they’re seeing some really positive results.
Recently they worked with the new B&M store in Maesteg to get 30 local people into jobs within the new store. They praised B&Ms approach to focusing specially on working with them to get local people into these jobs.
The team is also part of the Port Talbot Steel Transition Board.
The government is laser-focused on supporting people into work, and the Maesteg job centre is clearly very focused and strongly committed to delivering this aim!
