Stephen Kinnock MP and David Rees AM will be holding their second public meeting on the proposed prison on Baglan Moors.

The meeting will serve to update concerned residents on the latest state of play of the campaign against siting the prison on Baglan Moors.

Five months have passed since the last meeting back in September and there is now a new Minister responsible for prisons in Westminster, Rory Stewart. The Minister, along with a representative from the Welsh Government have been invited to the meeting.

The meeting will take place on the 12thApril at 7pm at the Aberavon Beach Hotel

In a joint statement, David Rees and Stephen Kinnock said:

“It’s important that we are able to provide the latest information to local people on the intention by the MOJ to build a prison on Baglan Moors.  We are asking both Governments to send Ministers to the meeting to listen to the views of the people and to take a clear message back to their respective governments. The MOJ had promised a consultation before the end of last Autumn but this has failed to happen and we need to organise this meeting to allow everyone to hear the latest information.”
