Today’s announcement of 250 job losses in Llanwern was bad news for the steel industry across the length and breadth of the UK. The loss of any job is deeply devastating for the individual involved and their family. It is disappointing that many of those losing their jobs will be youngsters who should be considered the future of the industry. What we desperately need  now if for the government to stand up for steel and make a game-changing intervention to support the steel industry and the workforce who have a big contribution to make to the economy.
