Stephen Kinnock, the Member of Parliament for Aberavon, has today written to the new Prime Minister, Theresa May, and the newly appointed Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Greg Clark.

Commenting on his letters to the new Prime Minister and the new Secretary of State, Mr Kinnock said:

“To date the British government has provided a lot of warm words about the steel industry, but has failed to back those words up with concrete actions. I hope that we can now make a fresh start with a new administration that will actually implement the policy reforms that are essential preconditions for the development of a secure, sustainable and prosperous steel industry.

“I have requested a meeting with the Secretary of State, and I look forward to hearing how he plans to deliver on the promises of that his predecessor made.”
