As the cost-of-living crisis continues to hit communities across Aberavon, I want to make sure that everyone eligible for support claims what they are entitled to.

Worryingly an estimated 850,000 eligible households are not claiming Pension Credit worth £1.7billion across the UK, with around £4.5million unclaimed in Neath Port Talbot.

I’m working with Citizens Advice Swansea Neath Port Talbot to make sure no-one misses out on the money they are entitled to.

Pension Credit gives you extra money to help with your living costs if you’re over State Pension age and on a low income. Even a small award can provide access to a wide range of other benefits such as help with housing costs, council tax and for those over 75 this includes entitlement to a free TV licence.

Pension Credit is separate from your State Pension. You might get extra help if you’re a carer, severely disabled, or responsible for a child or young person.

You can get Pension Credit event if you have other income, savings, or own your home.
