It was great to meet with senior members of Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd, who are managing the main civil, structural, and building works for the new Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) at our steelworks, having been appointed by Tata Steel UK in January.

Excellent to hear and understand more about the jobs and opportunities that will be available under the construction of the new EAF, the key milestones and progress to date, and to be briefed on Sir Robert McAlpine’s strong commitment to prioritising local workers and supply chains across all aspects of this vast and complex project, which remains on track for the EAF to be commissioning at the end of 2027 / early 2028.
