South Wales MPs welcome the news that the Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon has been given the go-ahead from government.

In a joint statement issued this afternoon, Stephen Kinnock, MP for Aberavon, and Carolyn Harris, MP for Swansea East, said:

“DECC backing for the lagoon shows a glimpse of the transformative effect government support for large scale renewable energy projects can have. The social and economic benefits to our constituents make this project so much more than a great leap forward in this government’s energy and infrastructure policies.”
